It took me a few days to thoughtfully assemble this outfit for Bloggers United 3.
First, the base—the most crucial part—a maxidress with straps. This, to me, proved to be the best option because no matter how well planned the logistics of a bazaar are, it`s almost always a bit of a hassle to fit clothes. Usually, the area for trying things on is quite small and/or inconveniently crowded, so to save me the time and effort of cramping myself with the masses of people queued, I can very easily, very quickly layer a top I want to fit on it. Also, bottoms are extremely easy to slip onto under the long dress.
Second, the shoes. Because I went with a very basic black dress, I added a bit of drama through my footwear, and a Jeffrey Campbell pair instantly makes the cut. Of course, this doesn`t mean I had to sacrifice comfort and function. I made sure I was in platform wedges so walking around wouldn`t kill my feet.
Third, to amp the drama just a few notches more, I wore my best statement accessory—my OS ribcage harness. I`ve actually had this for nearly half a year now, but this is the first time you`ll see it here on my blog because I try to save it for special occasions (like the AJMA Shindig 2012: Animalia back in January, which I didn`t blog about because I barely had time for photos due to backstage labor and partying to pay off for all the work).
Fourth and last but not the least, my bag. I refuse to be berated for using this bag again because I just love it too much—I adore the white that isn`t stark and I appreciate that it has two very functional straps: a short but thick one that allows proximity to my body (necessary for securing belongings when going through tight crowds) and a longer and thinner one that allows me to sling it on my shoulder to let the bag hang lower so I don`t have to put it down on a surface when I need to rummage through my things.
True enough, despite the overwhelming number of attendees, shopping at Bloggers United 3 seemed to be a breeze in hindsight. I didn`t stay very long and I was actually a tad late though. I`ll be talking about the event itself on my next post, so keep visiting!
Meanwhile, I`d love to read about what you wore to Bloggers United 3 or to the last bazaar you went to. Feel free to send me a message through my Ask button!

Finally, Bloggers United brings us their third installment!
I was just starting to (fashion) blog when Bloggers United organized their first bazaar, and I must say it was such an overwhelming experience for me to meet the bloggers I follow + shop for extremely affordable quality finds. I honestly couldn`t wait for this kind of opportunity to come again. Unfortunately, however, I wasn`t able to make it to Bloggers United 2 because I was out of the country, so I`m definitely making sure my schedule is clear this time around.
Save the date. 2 June 2012. Grand Events Place, Makati.
If you`re part of the handful of readers/followers I have, I`m looking forward to seeing you there. Don`t hesitate to say hi & approach for a little chat!
More details on Bloggers United 3 after the cut.
>>Something old. Would you believe I`ve had this sweater since I was a high school sophomore? I used to wear it over my uniform almost everyday then, because the classrooms in Poveda could get really cold. I haven`t worn it in a while because I`ve been favoring oversized sweaters, but I actually couldn`t believe that it only occurred to me yesterday to wear it as a top. I was also pleasantly surprised to notice that the lovely navy stripes haven`t faded one bit.
Something new. This isn`t my first post wearing these white sky-high Feet for a Queen wedges, but I just can`t get enough of them since they`ve arrived in my mail last week. The white leatherette stays superb even when used in the rain. The wedges are also as comfortable as they can get in all their 5.5” glory.

The gorgeous Alayne Maxino was my photographer for the day.

And Ernest was our official onlooker!

Alayne and I went to A Trendsetter’s Bazaar in Rockwell Tent after classes.

These babies are just a Php180 a pair, and they`re all personally made by Maxine. Unfortunately, she was too shy to join in the photo.

Look how divine these chain earrings are! They can be found at Maxine`s joint booth with Rex clothing, right beside…

The I Heart Matilda booth!

Meet sisters Jessica and Chin Gallegos of I Heart Matilda. When asked about the story behind the name of their store, they said it was inspired by Matilda, the girl with powers from the movie based on the Roald Dahl novel. Their brand, I Heart Matilda, enables women to be “whoever they want to be” when wearing their clothes. She can be dainty or edgy, sweet or sassy. Inspiring, yes?
Visit Maxine`s booth and I Heart Matilda at A Trendsetter`s Bazaar held in the Rockwell Tent until Sunday, October 9, 2011!

The Rockwell community partners with the Japanese Embassy to bring you Love Japan: A Fundraising Bazaar. In line with its theme, this event also features an origami demonstration, a costume play event, an animé festival and a Japanese film showing, aside from the conventional celebrity auction and culinary fair.
All proceeds will be donated to Japan through the Japanese Embassy, so whether you`re in for the great bargains or for the engaging cultural experience, drop by Love Japan at the Rockwell Tent this weekend!

Due to the crazy weather last week, I`m Shoe in Love! was postponed, and will be held this weekend. Read more details about this bazaar in my old post here.
To all those who are attending, may you find your solemate(s)!
Unfortunately, I won`t be able to drop by. Fortunately, though, it`s because I`ll be in Singapore. Yay for travel!

I woke up at 9:30 a.m. only to start panicking because I knew Bloggers United would open at 10:00, and I didn`t want to be late. I hurriedly showered and dressed, then dashed off to Malayan Plaza without even having a drink of water. To my delight, I was actually still early when I arrived. Surprisingly, I was so starstruck seeing all the bloggers I avidly follow! (And to think I don`t even get starstruck when I see local celebrities around.) For about half a minute, I just stood in the middle of the room staring at all the beautiful people. When I snapped out of my daze, I started shopping, and WOW OH WOW, the items were such good bargains! I was so occupied with gawking at the bloggers and shopping that I wasn`t even able to adjust the settings of my camera to take better photos. Still, the experience was well worth missing a few high quality shots.
After shopping for at least two and a half hours, I headed to UP Diliman to watch Bea`s play. Unfortunately, the director canceled the 3:15 p.m. show. It was a good thing Daniel invited me for coffee earlier, so when I told him the play wasn`t pushing through, we decided to meet at Techno Hub and catch up with each other`s lives at Cafe Breton.
Daniel was always one of my most favorite people, and he always will be. The man has exuded style since I first met him nearly six years ago. (I was an incoming seventh grader and he was an incoming sophomore.) He inspired me so much that for his senior year retreat, I wrote to him saying that if it hadn`t been for our friendship, I would still be trotting around in jeans and Converse sneakers. He was just about to finish high school then. Now, he`s one of the youngest well sought after stylists in the Philippine fashion industry. Daniel, though, is not to be defined by his career alone. Beyond his achievements is a character that has shown nothing but honesty, passion, dignity, and perseverance, and that`s the Daniel I will unfailingly be proud to call my friend.

It doesn`t look like I shopped for much, but that Forever 21 bag contains 3 plastics of clothes and two pairs of shoes.

The shoe box in the middle of the bunch of plastics contains this pair of shoes. Thank you so much, Denise Katipunera of Shoe Etiquette, for selling them to me for only Php 1,000 (original price Php 2,200) despite my nonexistent attempts to haggle! (Photo courtesy of Shoe Etiquette)

Notable style and beauty bloggers of the World Wide Web will connect outside their computer screens to take part in BLOGGERS UNITED: An Interactive Shopping Affair on May 27, 2011 at the 3nd – 33rd floor of The Lounge in Malayan Plaza Hotel. This event will be the very first bloggers bazaar featuring the most influential bloggers of Manila’s online fashion community.
Our favorite online fashionistas will open up their closets to sell their most coveted pre-loved clothes, allowing buyers to get the very same outfit worn by popular bloggers such as Rosanna Aranaz, Lloyda Lim, Tricia Gosingtian, Laureen Uy and Kryz Uy. Various style icons will also take part in this event including Kookie Buhain, Lissa Kahayon, Patricia Prieto, David Guison, Camille Co, Karl Leuterio, and Joanna Ladrido.
BLOGGERS UNITED wants this event to be a venue where the bloggers and readers can get together and interact with one another. Followers can approach their favorite bloggers to get to know them even more. They can share tips about how to style a particular item of clothing, gossip about the latest stories in the local and international fashion scene and be updated about the latest fashion trends.
Blogging has proven to be a very formidable part of the new media, empowering individuals and giving them voice in this emerging high tech word. BLOGGERS UNITED believes that such power can also be wielded for the good of others. With this in mind, part of the proceeds from this event will go to the K.I.D.S. FOUNDATION to assist the organization in “helping children from all walks of life enjoy their rights and experience growth and development through God-centered activities that promote fun and enjoyment.”
BLOGGERS UNITED is the brainchild of Melai Entuna (http://styleandsoul.blogspot.com), Aisa Ipac (http://ipaxme.blogspot.com) and Ana Gonzales (http://anagon.tk), a team of blogger friends aiming to make a breakthrough by creating events and productions geared towards the continuous advancement of Manila’s (and eventually, the country’s) fashion blogging community.
So to all bloggers, readers, and shoppers alike, be sure to bookmark the 27th of May and prepare for a hot summer event you wouldn’t want to miss! BLOGGERS UNITED is a HYPE that will definitely be worth blogging about!
